My name is Jóhannes Damian R. Patreksson, a 23-year-old from Iceland, where I’m a well-known artist as one half of the duo “JóiPé x Króli”. Music has been my passion from an early age, igniting my dream of becoming a pop artist and producer. With the release of my debut hit "Ég vil það" at the age of 16 I instantly established myself in the Icelandic pop scene. However, it was the transformative impact of my track "B.O.B.A." in 2017 that propelled me and my colleague Króli to national acclaim, boasting the most overnight streams in the country and garnering awards from both the People's Choice and the Icelandic Music Awards. My solo pop music career had also taken off and the following years became a blur of touring the country and performing shows of all sizes. Despite my pop success, after seven fruitful years, I felt a profound shift in my musical ambitions. After graduating last year with a Bachelor's degree in New Media Music from the Icelandic University of Arts (IUA), I embarked on a journey of exploration, venturing into the realms of theatre and television scoring. Crafting soundtracks for theatre productions and students from the Icelandic Film School opened up to me the profound beauty and boundless potential of film scoring. I come from a background of painting. For me, music composition is quite similar; it's about understanding spatial dynamics, and the interplay of colors for each note is a brushstroke.
